One of my first jobs was a helper for the carpenters remodeling a restaurant where they and myself found that I was good with my hands. I spent the next 7 years working for a local fire insurance contractor that taught me how to perform various other trades. My boss was a journeyman at all trades and took me under his wing, he was definitely my mentor. I got my Contractors license in 1980 and spent 7 years doing structural repairs for Allstate and Farmers insurance companies. After that I spent the next 35 years working with local architects on residential and commercial projects.
I started in this profession working under a contractor that had the ability to perform all aspects of the building trades. In 2002 my wife and I decided to move to Redding to raise our family in a beautiful area. In 2003 I got my contractors license and started North Valley Builders.
